Here in the South, we LOVE our cocktails. Every Friday we like to share a new Southern Traditional, Southern-Created or Southern-Inspired Cocktail Recipe that we know you will enjoy.
Today’s Southern Cocktail, Kentucky Bourbon Kamikaze Cocktail, is a Southern version of everyone’s favorite college shot, created for the best reason to do anything – to please the one you love.
Southern Cocktail #15 is Kentucky Bourbon Kamikaze
From the creator, dsweem –
“My wife loves Kamikaze cocktails and I like bourbon, so I figured I would combine the two. Most people seem to like it. It’s a good summer drink. Play with the simple syrup and soda water to adjust the taste to your liking.”
Like dsweem, I love bourbon. And like dsweem’s wife, I have always loved Kamikazes (although we drank them in college as “shots”). But it has been a long time since I have had one. So this was a no-brainer for me to make.
I will make it again.
Mark.
